Have you guys heard of Beautycounter? I had heard the name before but didn’t know much about the products. After a little research and trying out the products for a few weeks I’m hooked.
The most impressive thing about Beautycounter to me is their commitment to getting safe but effective products on the market. Their mission is to make sure that harmful ingredients never make it into their products while also educating people about the effects these toxic chemicals can have on your skin and your health. They have what they call the Never List which is a running list of ingredients you will never find in their products. The list includes the usual suspects like Parabens and Sulfates but it has over 1500 banned ingredients! They’ve really committed to research on harmful ingredients and are actually fighting to get more of these ingredients banned. According to their website the European Union has banned 1300 chemicals from use in beauty products while Canada has banned 500 and the US a measly 30! That’s pretty crazy if you think about it. That’s hundreds of harmful chemicals that are legally allowed to be in our everyday products.
I’ve been actively trying to avoid things like parabens and sulfates in my beauty products for a few years now but you’d be surprised how prevalent they still are in our beauty faves. So when I had the chance to try out some Beautycounter products I was all about it!
I tried the Rejuvenating Serum, the Facial Oil and the Lip Conditioner. I can honestly say I have used the Serum since the day I got it and I am obsessed. It literally glides onto my skin and my skin tone seems more even. Add in the Facial Oil and the transition from Winter to Spring that usually wreaks havoc on my skin was completely avoided! Miracles do exist people!
I also have to give a major shout out to the Lip Conditioner. My lips seemed perpetually dry and cracked for what felt like months over the winter and this conditioner saved me. I would slather it on before bed and after about a week my lips felt back to normal. I could finally wear lipstick again without having to worry about that gross cakey cracked look (be honest you’ve been there!).
If you’ve tried Beautycounter I’d love to hear about your favorite products and if you haven’t I definitely recommend giving them a shot! You can order beautycounter here. Who needs chemicals anyways am I right?
